Terry Coyne is a Vice Chairman in the Cleveland office of commercial real estate services firm, Newmark. He is an established commercial real estate broker specializing in large, complex, industrial and investment properties in northern Ohio. While he relies on the latest data, trends and forecasts to inform his work, his passion is people. Terry values his strong professional network and serves as a reliable resource to clients and peers.
His commitment to the greater Cleveland area is evidenced in the variety of deals he has completed, as well as his civic engagement. Terry is applying his successful model based on expertise, partnership and persistence to grow into new markets in Columbus, Toledo and Dayton.
In the last 5 years alone, Terry and his team have brokered 250 transactions valued at more than $1.2 billion. Terry is consistently rated one of the top producers for Newmark and has been recognized by industry associations and leaders.
During his 25-plus-year career, Terry has successfully negotiated more than 2,000 transactions totaling over $5 billion in total consideration value.
Terry graduated from the University of Chicago, where he earned a Master’s Degree. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame and has additional credit hours from St. Catherine’s College, Oxford University.
Derek Lichtfuss serves as a Managing Director in Newmark’s Columbus, Ohio office, where he has focused primarily on Industrial and Office Sales & Leasing. In his four years at Newmark, Derek has completed over 100 transactions, with total square footage in excess of 2,000,000. Derek has transacted in office and industrial deals ranging from 2,000 to 220,000 SF. Derek has been selected as a ‘Rising Star’ nationally at Newmark in each of the past 3 years and was awarded the Columbus Board of Realtor’s Rookie of the Year in 2017. Additionally, Derek has his Master’s in Real Estate Finance & Development from Georgetown University. Derek is a ULI member and 2019 Chair of the Columbus Board of Realtors Commercial Recognition Committee.
Prior to his career in commercial real estate, Derek worked in various roles across multiple industries including banking, IT services and business intelligence consulting. Positions held include sales, recruitment, project management, and management. His experience across a wide array of business ventures led him to pursuing a career in commercial real estate. Derek enjoys assisting in the critical decision-making that affects the way businesses operate and grow.
Derek relocated to Columbus, OH from Denver, CO in 2015. He is a 2011 graduate of the University of Vermont, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, with minors in both business administration and recreation management. He was a 4-year member of the Varsity Lacrosse team at UVM. In addition to his professional life, Derek serves as the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach for Columbus Academy, in Gahanna, OH. Derek resides in New Albany, OH with his wife and sons.
Claire Coyne McCoy is a Director in the Cleveland office of commercial real estate services firm, Newmark. With past experience ranging from IT systems audits for financial services, insurance, manufacturing and health services clients to experience in supply chain operations, she previously worked at Newmark’s Research office as a market research analyst.
Prior to joining Newmark, Claire served as a technology assurance associate for the Cleveland office of KPMG, a global audit, tax and advisory services firm, as well as a supply chain operations intern for BoxCast, an end-to-end streaming platform provider and technology company.
Claire works on the northern Ohio office and industrial investment and leasing team led by Newmark Vice Chairman Terry Coyne. Her specialties are data analytics, financial services and client engagement. In addition, Claire’s data analysis and client relations skills provide solid business development expertise to the team.
She is active in Northeast Ohio’s real estate community, serving as the Vice Chair of the Women’s Leadership Network for NAIOP Northern Ohio; and has a leadership role as event chair for the American Cancer Society (Young Professionals).
Claire attended the Farmer School of Business at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Supply Chain Operations and Management and Information Systems and Analytics. She is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Ohio.
Chief of Staff
Ann Davis is the Director of Client Services, overseeing marketing, deal transactions, operations, and client engagement. Her experience in client-facing roles as well as marketing, communications, administration, and operations supports the team’s stability and growth. Ann has more than 20 years of experience at both non-profit and for-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio. She is a graduate of John Carroll University and licensed real estate salesperson in the state of Ohio. She joined the Coyne Team in 2021.
Transaction Services Coordinator
Joe Royer is the team’s Transaction Services Coordinator and Research Analyst. Joe manages the detailed billing process to help clients and co-brokers process their deals quickly and correctly. Attention to detail and his ability to process leases and contracts make Joe the perfect fit for this role. Joe prepares weekly reports that identify prospects for each listing, as well as property and comp research for clients. He is a graduate of Cleveland State University and has been working at Newmark since 2019.
Executive Administrator
Jeannine Soster is Executive Administrator, managing listings, marketing, social media and streamlining internal processes to aid in the success of the Coyne Team. Her experience in property management, local brokerage, communications and administration bring value to the team. Jeannine has more than 25 years of commercial property management, brokerage support and real estate experience. She has an undergraduate degree and master’s degree from The University of Akron, is a licensed real estate salesperson and a notary public in the state of Ohio. She joined Newmark in 2022 and the Coyne Team in 2024.
